Fundraising Projects
Work is underway to reboot the Rotary Youth Exchange.  After a pause due to the covid pandemic, Rotary International has given the go-ahead to begin selection and orientation of students in anticipation of a July 1, 2022 program start date.
Bright sunshine, tasty chili and good company were the key ingredients for 2021’s successful Chilly Chili event, held by the Rotary Club of Ottawa and the Rotaract Club of Ottawa.
With support from the Rotary Club of Ottawa, the Stay in School project of Elimu (Canada) helped single mothers and girls in Kenya to pay school fees in the wake of covid.  It also brought emergency food supplies to 21 families who were faced with having to choose between buying food or paying rent.  

Reducing Infant and Maternal Deaths in Zimbabwe

The Rotary Club of Ottawa worked with the Sunnybrook Health Center in Toronto and the Harare Dawn Rotary Club, Zimbabwe, to arrange for the shipment of 32 infant incubators to Harare for installation at the main hospital. These were donated by Sunnybrook and filled three shipping containers and were needed to replace infant incubators lost in a fire.
